Important Clarification for All ELI Supporters and Donors
We have had several inquires about an event happening at the Santa Rosa fairgrounds April 23 & 24, 2016. This event, called the “Wine Country Comic Con” is NOT connected to ELI. The confusion seems to be stemming from some of their literature in which they state they are raising money to build an early learning center for children with autism, sometimes referred to by the organizers as an Early Learning Institute. They do have a GoFundMe page as well, using the same phrases.
We have been in contact with the organizers, who are working to remove our name and clarify their event goal in a different manner. In the meantime, we urge all our supporters to read carefully any solicitations they receive, especially electronic messages, to truly understand who they may be donating to.
The Early Learning Institute IS currently raising program funds and has an Amazon wish list for our new play group office in Santa Rosa. Anything you receive from us will have a link to our web site or our Amazon wish list. There is an open memorial fund to honor Sue Powell, our first Board President, who recently passed away. And, we will be participating in The Human Race and also have our annual birthday dance scheduled for Saturday, September 17, 2016.
Should you have any questions at all, please call our office (707-591-0170) or email me directly – email@example.com.
As always, thank you for your ongoing support.
