TCP- Bilingual Childcare Consultant

The Early Learning Institute is Sonoma County’s premier provider of child development supports for young children and their families. We are currently seeking a Bilingual Childcare Consultant to join our dedicated Consultation Project team. Part-time staff position or Per Diem opportunities. Please note: FT staff positions available through cross-program duties.

REPORTS TO: TCP Program Manager

COMPENSATION: $31,200 - $37,000 annually (1/2 time); Per diem: $45-$60/hour

SYNOPSIS OF DUTIES:

Provides consultation to early care and learning programs for children with challenging behavior and developmental concerns. Works with providers and family members conducting observations and intakes and developing intervention plans.

RESPONSIBILITIES

⦁ Observations and screenings in early care and learning settings.

⦁ Develop goals and strategies to support the child’s success in an early care and learning setting.

⦁ Establish specific intervention plans for providers and families.

⦁ Facilitate communication between families and providers.

⦁ Support families in accessing community resources.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

⦁ Bachelor’s degree: mental health, social work, early childhood education, special education, psychology or related field. Master’s Degree preferred. Equivalent experience considered.

⦁ Bilingual

⦁ Four + years’ experience with children, with some experience in early care and learning settings.

⦁ Broad knowledge of developmentally based intervention strategies.

⦁ Excellent time management and organizational skills.

⦁ Knowledge of community resources.

Fingerprint clearance, TB and immunization clearance and current CPR certification required. Must have reliable transportation, proof of auto insurance and proof of valid California driver’s license. Evidence of any and all health and safety training and/or credentials and certifications required by law or licensing.
